I have always loved the tones of Carlton and Ford, and of course know the Dumble lore, but wasn't into the idea of getting one of the many D-style pedals as they had "a sound", but still had a "pedal" vibe. Didn't knock my socks off.
Of course I haven't had a chance to play a real Dumble ever, so I didn't think the pedals were pulling it off.
This amp-sim is really incredible. It has the same, special kind of feel and touch-sensitivity that my bespoke, all-tube, hand-wired point-to-point Verellen amplifiers have. Something I haven't found in a sim with this amount of detailed response.
My Verellens don't have a "Dumble sound" per se, but they do have a really special feel and response to touch.
I love all the different amp model variations, and cab/mic combos.
I find all the amp models really gorgeous in tone and response/feel, but am really partial to the Suede emulation.
Favorite cab/mic combos for this model are the 1x12 cab with either the EV12 and GB25.
Seriously addicting and inspiring to play through.
Highly recommended!
